Belief Statement of Way Maker Ministry

We Believe:

The Scriptures

The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, without error in its original manuscripts. It is the complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation of humanity and the supreme and final authority for all matters of faith, doctrine, conduct, and Christian living.
(2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 4:12)

God

There is one true and living God, the Creator of heaven and earth, who is eternal, all-powerful, and perfect in holiness, love, and truth. He eternally exists as one God in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in nature, essence, and glory, who together accomplish God’s redemptive purposes.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Genesis 1:1)

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, fully God and fully man. Through His sacrificial death on the cross, He made full atonement for the sins of humanity. He rose bodily from the dead on the third day, ascended into heaven, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father as our Advocate, High Priest, and Lord. He will return again in power and glory.
(Matthew 1:18–23; John 1:1–14; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:9–11; Hebrews 7:25)

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus Christ and convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He regenerates and indwells all believers at salvation, empowering them for holy living, spiritual growth, and effective service. The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a distinct experience that equips believers with power to witness and minister, accompanied by spiritual gifts according to Scripture.
(John 14:16–17, 26; John 16:8; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11)

Humanity

Humanity was created in the image and likeness of God to live in relationship with Him. Through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the world, resulting in spiritual separation from God and death for all humanity. Every person is in need of redemption, which can only be received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit.
(Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; John 3:3–6)

Salvation

Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received by faith alone in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Through repentance and faith, believers are justified, forgiven of sins, born again by the Holy Spirit, and adopted into the family of God. Salvation produces a transformed life marked by obedience, holiness, and good works. Believers live in the blessed hope of the imminent return of Jesus Christ.
(Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 5:1; John 1:12–13; Titus 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17)

Baptism and Communion

We believe in water baptism by immersion for believers who have repented and placed their faith in Jesus Christ, as an outward testimony of an inward transformation—identifying with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. We also believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues, as an empowerment for service and witness. Communion is a sacred ordinance instituted by Jesus Christ, commemorating His sacrifice and proclaiming His death until He returns, open to all believers.
(Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3–4; Acts 2:38–39; Acts 10:44–46; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26)

Eternal Life and Judgment

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people. Those who are redeemed through faith in Jesus Christ will inherit eternal life and everlasting fellowship with God. Those who reject Christ will face final judgment and eternal separation from God.
(John 5:28–29; Daniel 12:2; Revelation 20:11–15; Matthew 25:46)

The Church

The Church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the Head. It is composed of all believers united by faith through the Holy Spirit. The Church is called to worship God, disciple believers, walk in unity, demonstrate God’s love, and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations in the power of the Holy Spirit.
(Ephesians 1:22–23; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27; Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:42–47)
